Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their client's dynamic team in California. The HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting the organization across various human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, payroll support, and HR operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a high level of organization while handling confidential information and building positive relationships within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with management to support recruiting and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding activities.
  • Administer new hire orientation and employee onboarding programs.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee records management.
  • Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee benefit changes.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and documentation.
  • Support performance management and employee development initiatives.
  • Conduct exit interviews and assist with offboarding processes.
  • Create and distribute employee communications and HR-related materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate recordkeeping across all HR functions.
  • Assist with company-wide administrative and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting payroll processes.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred

  • PHR or SHRM certification.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace compliance.
  • Experience conducting employee relations investigations.
  • Property management or multi-location employer experience.
